Your Privacy and Security is Important
We at Centum Financial Group Inc. (CENTUM) are committed to respecting and protecting
your privacy and security. CENTUM has taken all reasonable measures to protect the
security of your personal information gathered through our www.Centum.ca website
(the Site) and to protect your data from misuse and unauthorized access or disclosure.
CENTUM exercises care in providing secure transmission of your information from
your computer to our servers.
CENTUM and its Franchisees
As a franchisor, CENTUM does not provide mortgage broker services. Mortgage broker
services are provided exclusively by CENTUM franchisees (Franchisees). Each CENTUM
franchise is an independently owned and operated mortgage broker business. Customers
applying for mortgage services through the Site apply through a Franchisee, not
through CENTUM. While CENTUM has undertaken extensive measures to control and ensure
the privacy and security of personal information obtained through the Site, it does
not own or control the operations of its Franchisees, who may have differing levels
of privacy and security practices and procedures for personal information once it
is received by them at their local office. Customers who have concerns about the
treatment of their personal information by the Franchisee with which they are dealing
are urged to contact that Franchisee directly.
Information Collected Through the Site
Statistical Information
We automatically collect anonymous statistical information regarding usage of our
website. For instance, our Site will recognize the type of browser you are using
(Netscape or Internet Explorer), the address of the Internet Service Provider you
are using, the site that linked you to our Site, the pages you visit at our Site,
and similar information. None of this information identifies you personally.
Cookies
CENTUM has two primary uses for its cookies. First, we use them to specify each
user's preferences. Second, we use cookies to track website usage trends and patterns.
This helps us to better understand the needs of our users and to improve areas of
our services which our users find valuable. While both of these activities depend
on the use of cookies, you have the option of disabling the cookies via your browser
preferences.
Personal Information
CENTUM does not collect your personal information through the Site except when such
personal information is provided to us on a voluntary basis. For example, CENTUM
will collect a user's name, address, phone number and/or email address and any additional
details that a user chooses to provide if he or she completes the forms on the pages
of the Site. If you choose not to provide personal information, please note that
certain services associated with the Site may not be available to you as they cannot
be supplied without personal information.
Use and Disclosure of Information
Your personal information that is gathered through the Site will not be sold to
third parties without your approval, provided that CENTUM reserves the right to
and may disclose such personal information: (a) to its affiliates, subsidiaries
and third party agents for purposes related to providing services associated with
the Site or the promotion or advertisement of CENTUM, CENTUM franchisees or their
respective wares and services; or (b) if such disclosure is made pursuant to a requirement
or request of a government agency, subpoena or other legal proceeding or otherwise
required by law.
CENTUM uses information gathered through the Site for the purposes of:
- including each user's personal information on CENTUM's databases and on CENTUM's
mailing list in order to provide users with updates and invitations to upcoming
events that may be of interest to each user;
- responding to any specific requests you may make;
- understanding how the Site is being used and to improve the Site
- using such information in connection with the marketing initiatives of CENTUM or
of CENTUM franchisees.
Removal of Personal Information
You can request that we delete all your personal information submitted by you through
the Site from our database by providing detailed instructions to CENTUM's Privacy
Officer. Upon your request, CENTUM will delete all electronically stored personal
information you have submitted through the Site. Please note that CENTUM is not
responsible for and cannot delete personal information from the systems or files
of franchisees or other organizations such as financial institutions, credit reporting
agencies, or real estate brokers that have subsequently been sent your personal
information by franchisees. Please allow two weeks for processing of deletion requests.
Natural Limits of Security
Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100
percent secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your information, CENTUM
cannot and does not ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit
to us, and any information you do transmit to us via the Internet is done at your
own risk. Once we receive your transmission, CENTUM uses industry-accepted efforts
to safeguard the confidentiality of your information, such as firewalls, secure
socket layers as well as unique user name and password protections.
We also restrict internal access of stored data to select employees and our franchisees
that have been informed of our privacy policies. If you have concerns involving
